Still querying!

I've sent out my eleventh query today in hopes of securing a literary agent to represent me and my new book.  While I've gotten some nice replies saying they didn't think it a bad idea, just that it wasn't what they were into.  Heck, one directly told me that don't do ghost stories.  (Shrugs.)

I want to get my book to get the widest audience with the most options as how they can read it. (I.E print and electronic.)  However, I get the feeling that I might have to, in the end,  settle on a smaller publisher that might limit my book's exposure.  (I.E. only being published in the electronic format only on the internet.)  I've seen some small publishers who specialize in horror writing, but I'm not sure if going to them will help my career long term.  I'd love to hear from some who did go that route.

Personally, I would love to just focus on writing and let my future publisher/agent hype the book.  But I get the feeling if I went fully electronic and with a smaller publisher, I would have to be my own publicist.  Doing that, I think, may cause me to focus less on writing.  Plus, I don't have enough money to travel around the United State tooting my own horn so to speak.  In the end, that may be my only way to go for now.

Hearing Voices And I Shouldn't Ignore Them!

Could those voices be real? Were they just in her imagination? Does she need more medicine to calm them down?

This was a fun little story to write. I enjoyed the quirkiness of it.

Instead of posting the entire story here, here's the link to it up on my Deviantart site: http://brothejr.deviantart.com/#/d4nuti1

I hope you enjoy it.

Finally I can say...

Yep, I can finally say I have a blog!

Now, you may be wondering who I am?  That's a good question.  My name is Jonathan Brothers and I am an aspiring writer.

Now, the genre of most of my writing tends to be along the dark side, monsters, ghosts, and other such horrors.  Don't ask me why!  Maybe it's my sick and twisted mind?  Maybe it was that monster that hid underneath my bed, closet, and sometimes down in the basement.  Maybe I got that way because back when I was and young boy, my older sister let me watch the Poltergeist movie. (One of my favorites.) Either way, writing horror and even a bit of sci-fi makes me happy and if you're reading this, I hope you like it too and find my writing entertaining too.

I'll write more about my past, what I'm thinking and even a short story or two later on.

Though to wet your whistle a bit, here are some of the sites I run/part of:
